Grand Lisboa Palace Macau

An ornate East-meets-West sanctuary
VERIFIED LUXURY

Inspired by Europe’s monumental castles and museums, Grand Lisboa Palace stands out from the crowd on the Cotai strip. Stretching across 5.6 million square feet, the luxury Macau resort boasts a Versailles-inspired Grand Pavilion, a dramatic metal dome and manicured French-style gardens, among other notable features.

Inside, the experience is no less magnificent. The 1,350-room resort channels the decorative Belle Époque era of optimism and innovation while paying tribute to Macau’s East-meets-West heritage. Lavish European-style decor meets traditional Chinese motifs, complemented by one of the largest art collections you’ll find in any Macau resort. It all speaks to a sense of bespoke elegance, ambition and regal style.

Considering the resort’s size, you will have no shortage of experiences, restaurants and activities at your doorstep. In addition to a quarter million square feet of casino space with every game imaginable, discover 14 dining and drinking venues, a luxurious spa, a mesmerizing Jardim Secreto (meaning “secret garden”) and The Bazar, a vast shopping space featuring more than 100 boutiques.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The 1,350 rooms at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort overlook either action-packed Cotai or the lush Jardim Secreto. We prefer the latter: At night, the garden’s central dome lights up the area with an ethereal glow — something you won’t find elsewhere in Macau.
  • With more than 100 fashion and lifestyle boutiques in The Bazar, an 807,000-square-foot retail mecca on the property’s first and second floors, shopping abounds. We love the Made in Macau boutique, which showcases only homegrown brands, from street fashion pioneers Maccrew to jewelry designers DVM 3½ Chasing Dragon.
  • Jardim Secreto is the place to relax and unwind outdoors when the weather is right. Throughout the 11,280-square-foot garden, you’ll find ornate gazebos, landscaped patios, a unique grass maze and lawns flanked by European-style pavilions and a colonnade.
  • Among the various dining experiences, Palace Room encapsulates the resort’s marriage of cultures in a setting brought to life by Hong Kong designer Alan Chan. Amid a regal atmosphere that recalls an imperial garden, chef Ken Chong serves exquisite Cantonese haute cuisine, like partridge bisque and Canadian beef short ribs stewed with wild honey and premium soy sauce.
  • The property features three hotel brands, including The Karl Lagerfeld and Palazzo Versace Macau, each in separate towers with dedicated entrances. That means you can easily enjoy the bars and restaurants at each property, including Mesa, Karl Lagerfeld’s contemporary Portuguese restaurant.

The Rooms

  • Attention to detail sets the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort apart. All rooms feature amenities like 500-thread-count cotton sheets and traditional Macau motifs with modern flair, from colorful contemporary artwork to Chinese-inspired furniture, vibrant silk throw pillows, lantern-like sconces and porcelain accents.
  • No matter which accommodation you stay in, you’ll be spoiled with the luxury of space. Choices start from 645-square-foot Deluxe Rooms and expand up to the 3,767-square-foot Venus and Velvet suites. Even the entry-level rooms include a comfortable sitting area so you can relax or entertain.
  • For couples and newlyweds, the 1,180-square-foot Deluxe Suites are a great choice. These 64 suites burst with pops of burnt orange and ocean blue, recalling Portuguese azulejos(glazed blue ceramic tiles), and offer smart touches like separate baths, walk-in showers and romantic lighting.
  • For a one-of-a-kind experience, book a stay in one of the two most exclusive accommodations — the Venus and Velvet suites — both of which take inspiration from a tale by Macanese novelist Henrique De Senna Fernandes.
  • Not only do the two-bedroom suites offer premium amenities like in-room check-in, butler service, private massage rooms and fully equipped kitchens, but the décor will leave you breathless. Picture mysterious, elegant, dramatic residences that celebrate color and patterns with bold wallpaper and tiling, detailed area rugs, rich jewel tones, eclectic art and statement-making bathtubs that will make you feel like royalty.
