The Peninsula Spa Paris

A serene oasis in the center of Paris
VERIFIED LUXURY
Paris is anything but calm, which may be one of the reasons The Peninsula Spa Paris feels so special. It’s an oh-so-serene spot that happens to be just steps away from the tourist-filled Champs-Élysées in a newly renovated 1908 Haussmanian building that easily transports you back in time to the grand hotels of the 19th century. Once inside the hotel, head downstairs to one of the city's best-kept new secrets — the 19,000-square-foot spa — for indulgent services, luxe amenities and an utterly peaceful state of mind.

While the hotel itself is classically Parisian maintaining the bones of the 19th-century architecture, the spa veers more on the side of understated luxury. Expect calming muted tones and rich textiles and materials like marble and wood.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • An East-meets-West theme winds throughout the spa, from the décor to the treatments.
  • Despite its size, the 16th Arrondissement spa still maintains an intimate feel — you won’t be overwhelmed with rows and rows of treatment rooms.
  • Here, the boutique experience is key, with eight private rooms — two of which are couples' suites — nestled into the basement-level spa designed in a simple yet sleek style.
  • Your journey to wellness starts in the Asian Tea Lounge with a cup of Yemaya tea.
  • Zen out in a space outfitted in modern Asian motifs — think sleek artwork and vases lining the dark wood and marble-filled room — before sitting down with a therapist to chat about your treatment.
Things to Know
  • At least half the fun of visiting this Paris spa is partaking in the amenities, so save some time before or after your treatment
  • The Peninsula Spa works with two top brands, offering facial and body treatments from the internationally known ESPA line, and more dermatology-based facials from skincare experts Biologique Recherche.
  • If you have built up an appetite, feel free to order a light meal from the Healthy menu designed by the hotel’s Executive Chef Christophe Raoux and his team.
The Treatments
  • You have options galore when it comes to massages — choose a more standard massage, something with French flair or a treatment incorporating elements of the East.
  • Case in point: ESPA's Yin Yang Vitality service, designed specifically for this hotel, works with warm herbs, essential oils and an Oriental head massage with jade stones to help clear the mind.
  • Other treatments include a wow-worthy couples experience in a private suite, a reflexology foot massage, a salt and oil scrub, and a long list of facials.
The Facilities
  • Swing by one of the two Jacuzzis, indoor pool or two fitness rooms outfitted with both Life Fitness machines and personal coaches for training sessions.
  • Of course in the men's and women's changing rooms, set on both sides of the spa, you'll also be able to indulge in amenities like the sauna, hammam and ice fountain.
  • After all this relaxation, you can opt to get prepped for a night out at the beauty salon, too.
