VERIFIED LUXURY
We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience goes beyond how your surroundings look — how your visit makes you feel is what you will remember most.
We started in 1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.

Four-Star

Soon To Be Rated
As our highly trained, incognito inspectors work to assess properties, our editors check them out ahead of time and provide a sneak preview of what to expect.
One of
Los Angeles’ most venerable fine-dining restaurants, the acclaimed Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Belvedere has long served as a deal-sealing destination in Beverly Hills. Many a silver-screen contract has been signed across these tables, as fast talkers from the nearby CAA and ICM agencies have held court here, but it's also been the setting for numerous proposals, ladies luncheons and black-tie affairs since the hotel opened in August 1991.
But, after an extensive four-month remodel completed in January 2015, the restaurant has debuted a stunning transformation. Now serving locally sourced Mediterranean cuisine, seasonal menu offerings include comfort breakfast foods, healthy lunch options (crisp salads with fresh-baked pita bread) and wild-caught seafood for dinner. Some produce is even harvested from the hotel’s rooftop garden.
Inside the dining room, cheerful blue and white plaid patterns and contemporary French paintings give the space a charming, Paris-meets-country look. The terrace outside also has a rural European aura, perfect for a glass of one of the Belvedere’s 50 vintage wines.
