Prince de Galles, A Luxury Collection Hotel

Paris’ art deco icon
VERIFIED LUXURY
Open since 1928, Prince de Galles, A Luxury Collection Hotel has long been a bastion of art deco luxury on the elegant Avenue George V in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

Renovated in 2013 and meticulously restored by master designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, the hotel showcases its art deco theme in the spacious reception area, lobby and throughout its eight floors. Perched just off the storied Champs-Elysées, the elegant property makes for a serene and stylish respite from the bustle of the City of Light.

The well-situated hotel sits near the Champs-Élysées, the main business districts, top boutiques and landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Striking 1930s black-and-white Vogue photographs hang on the walls of the corridors — they set a consistent art deco tone.
  • Adding to the art deco vibe are the black marble floors, rich fabrics, deep ebony furnishings with pops of color and flash, as well as a magnificent painting from Tamara de Lempicka, a famous art deco artist.
  • Steps up from the fitness center entrance (complimentary for hotel guests) and past a few decorative statues is the private spa, dubbed the Wellness Suite, featuring a beautiful mosaic-tiled steam bath.
  • Explore the City of Lights in style with one of the exceptional experiences put together by the Paris hotel’s Les Clefs d’Or concierge team.
  • Noted chef Akira Back opened his first European restaurant at Prince de Galles, A Luxury Collection Hotel in 2022. The unique venue blends modern Japanese cuisine with Korean and international flavors.

Things to Know
  • A 24-hour designer fitness center is available for those looking to grab a workout. A personal trainer is also available for 60-minute sessions upon request.
  • Enjoy a Parisian afternoon tea. The tradition includes savory mignardises and mouthwatering French pastries.

  • Reserve a table for Sunday brunch. Start with the savory buffet, which includes cheeses, charcuterie, salads and seafood. Then wrap up with the sweet buffet’s pastries, cakes, croissants, tarts and chocolate fountain.

The Rooms
  • All 116 rooms and 43 suites boast bold art deco style. Think geometric patterns, mirrored headboards and artistic black-and-white photos lining the walls.
  • The Mosaic suites are so named because of the bathroom’s intricate designs of mosaic ceramic tiles sourced from the South of France.
  • Twenty-six rooms and suites provide pleasant and spacious terraces overlooking the city skyline or the hotel’s legendary Le Patio.
  • Every room is equipped with a separate shower and bath.
  • In honor of the Paris property's 90th anniversary in 2019, it unveiled a brand-new art deco-inspired accommodation dubbed "Lalique Suite," so named for the storied French crystal maker. Envisioned by renowned designer Patrick Hellmann, the two-story suite boasts crystal artworks, an enchanting marble bathroom with views of the Eiffel Tower and an expansive terrace that's perfect for sipping sundowners.
The Restaurants
  • Come to the warm, elegant Bar 19.20 to sip wine, cognac and champagne from local producers.

  • Le Patio’s garden area gives you a chance to dine alfresco without being next to a busy street — the space is tucked away and made gorgeous by lush greenery and colorful mosaics.

  • At Akira Back, don’t miss the American-Korean chef’s signature AB tuna pizza with tuna sashimi, aioli umami, micro shiso and white truffle oil.
