Marriott Riyadh Diplomatic Quarter looks futuristic, but the 2018 hotel’s design origins come from nature. The Wadi Hanifa, a desert valley that cuts through Riyadh, inspires the building’s canyon-like walls and waterways, and the grounds are dotted with cacti, flowering vines, native date palm trees and more. Wadi Hanifa also inspired Saudi artist Maisa Shaldan’s wall-spanning sculptural work Mada inside the hotel (in total, the property features 690 contemporary pieces designed by more than 14 Saudi Arabian artists).
Also inside you’ll find smooth cream-colored marble lines the common areas, which have accents of glittering gold and warm wood. It's a comfortable space while remaining modern and sustainable. In fact, the trailblazing Marriott clinched the honor of becoming the country’s first gold LEED-certified hotel.
The Diplomatic Quarter hotel caters to those visiting for work or pleasure. There are ergonomic desks, a spa, three on-property restaurants, gardens, a heated pool and a full gym complete with fitness classes. With plenty of activities and amenities like interconnecting rooms, the hotel provides a great spot for kids as well.
