Conrad Los Angeles
Luxury in L.A.’s downtown art district
VERIFIED LUXURY
We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience goes beyond how your surroundings look — how your visit makes you feel is what you will remember most.
We started in 1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These are outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.
Four-Star

Recommended

With the 2022 opening of the new Conrad Los Angeles, Downtown L.A. is home to not one but two glorious architectural sisters by legendary architect Frank Gehry flanking First and Grand streets. More than a decade in the making, Conrad Los Angeles is the inaugural West Coast hotel for the luxury brand. Like its distinctive Gehry-designed façade, the 25-story, 305-room ultra-modern hotel is a well-balanced cocktail of cool sophistication and whimsy, catering to both the all-business guest and leisure-seeker.
Boasting two stellar restaurants — the alfresco Agua Viva and upscale steakhouse San Laurel — by heralded Spanish chef and philanthropist José Andrés, two cocktail bars, sexy outdoor lounge areas with stunning cityscape views, a rooftop pool, a 7,000-square-foot spa, a public space art gallery featuring local artists, a gym and more, the Conrad feels like a bona fide resort in the middle of L.A.’s most intense urban jungle.
Impressive interiors, both rooms and public spaces, were designed by London-based Tara Bernerd & Partners. Overall, the vibe is a 21st-century take on a mid-century modern motif. Generously sized rooms, ranging from standard accommodations to the three presidential suites, come outfitted with white pine furnishings, colorful T-shaped sofas, bathrooms with marble accents, a Nespresso coffee machine and high-tech, touch-of-a-button controls for lighting and blackout curtains.
