VERIFIED LUXURY
We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience goes beyond how your surroundings look — how your visit makes you feel is what you will remember most.
We started in 1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These are outstanding, often iconic properties with virtually flawless service and amazing facilities.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended
These are excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.
Soon To Be Rated
As our highly trained, incognito inspectors work to assess properties, our editors check them out ahead of time and provide a sneak preview of what to expect.

The Rooms
- Expect to find artwork in your guest room from Conrad Centennial Singapore’s collection of more than 3,400 pieces that are sprinkled throughout its public areas and 512 contemporary rooms.
- Our Forbes Travel Guide editors report that on our most recent stay at this luxury Singapore hotel our guest room had identical sculptures on either side of the room’s marble foyer, and that colorful prints matching the room’s neutral color palette of light yellows, greens and beige were hung above the bed and within the side seating area.
- The room at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel was also outfitted with a large work desk, 46-inch flat-screen television with DVD player and Nespresso machine, while the stylish all-marble bathroom featured a walk-in shower, deep-soaking tub, his-and-her sinks and large assortment of complimentary amenities that included Aromatherapy Associates bath products.
- Bathrooms include his-and-her sinks, personal grooming mirrors mounted on swivels, a glass-door walk-in shower and a toilet area separated by a mirrored door.
- A body scrub pad and bath salts near the bathroom’s deep-soaking tub add a luxurious touch and all bathrooms at the hotel are supplied with a full assortment of complimentary amenities that include Aromatherapy Associates bath products, dental and shaving kits, sanitized comb, emery board and cotton buds.
The Look
- Polished granite surfaces, ornately stenciled armoires, a splendid all-marble curved staircase and cozy lounge area, outfitted with plush couches and chairs and ringed by tall stalks of bamboo, are a few of the most prominent stylistic touches you’ll find in the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel’s high-ceilinged lobby.
- Most striking, however, may be the golden, conical-shaped ceiling installation that resembles an upside-down Christmas tree and, perhaps unintentionally, points downwards at the lobby’s other impressive sculpture, a blocky piece titled Turbulence by artist Rafael Barrios. Barrios’ piece is one of the more than 3,400 among Conrad Centennial Singapore’s impressive collection.
- While making your reservation at this hotel, it’s also a good idea to ask for a room facing Marina Bay. From these rooms and suites you’ll look out on many of central Singapore’s most iconic attractions and buildings, including the glittering skyscrapers of the central business district, Esplanade.
